No. You can set up your family space and start using the app entirely on your own device, without signing up for an account. An optional sign-in exists for people who want to sync between their own devices, but it isn't required.

Create your family space during onboarding — it's set up locally on your device in a few steps. From there, follow the in-app steps to add members and begin organizing your shared information.

Sohum Fam supports adding family members and pairing nearby devices directly, without needing everyone to go through a separate invite link or server. The exact flow may vary slightly by release and device.

Yes. Stree, the built-in assistant, runs its core AI directly on your device for everyday requests like planning and reminders, so it can work even without an internet connection. Voice assistance and additional AI features are also included, depending on your device and settings.

Yes. Inside the app, go to Settings → Privacy & data → Delete my data. It's instant and self-serve — no need to wait on a support request — and permanently erases everything stored on that device. You can also reach the support team directly if you'd like help with an account-linked request.

Sohum Fam is built local-first: your family's information is encrypted and stored on your own device by default, and the app's Privacy Dashboard shows exactly how much data has left your device.
